We’re creating a permanent, living record of First Nations history, art and current affairs that can never be written over. Stories that always were, and always will be. We’re looking for your experiences of injustice and resilience in all artforms:

This is your truth

You can share truths and stories about any aspect of injustics or truth you like. For example, truths about:

  • Your local area
  • Your family's experiences (with their permission)
  • Racism, forced removal from home, forced labour, cultural loss, intergenerational trauma
  • Stolen generations
  • Economic disadvantage and stolen wages
  • Ignorance towards First Nations affairs
  • Ongoing injustices
  • or anything else that you want
  • You can also share the truth about the strength, survival and resistance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Share your joy, your art and your passion.

We’re looking for your experiences of injustice and resilience in all artforms:

You can submit a moment of truth by visiting the Blak Box Submission page and simply adding your details and uploading your content. We will let you know if your moment has been chosen for publication within 2 weeks. So please be patient.

Your moment of truth will be published on the BlakBox website. However, your work may be selected to be shown on SharingStories Linkedin, Facebook, Instagram or Tiktok social pages to continue to amplify the voices of First Nations peoples. We will let you know if your work is selected for this special purpose.

Your moment of truth may also be selected to be published on SharingStories education platform Jajoo Warrngara: The Culture Classroom and we will develop educational resources to support your topic for educators to use in schools nation-wide. https://jajoowarrngara.org/

Your moment of truth will only be used on Jajoo Warrngara with your explicit consent and will become part of the Jajoo Warrngara community revenue share model. As part of this model you will receive 50% of revenue based on the number of educators who access your content to share in their classrooms, noting that the other 50% will return to SharingStories to continue supporting their community led projects.

SharingStories has a strict selection criteria for choosing which moments of truth to publish. We will be looking for:

  • Originality
  • Clarity of chosen theme
  • Relevance to the topic of First Nations histories or current affairs
  • Must not include any reference to sex or drug use
  • Must not contain any profanity
  • Use of engaging media or language relevant to your chosen theme

You will receive full credit for your moment of truth if it is published unless you request for it to be published anonymously.

SharingStories will only pay you if your moment of truth is chosen for publication. If your moment of truth is selected for publication, SharingStories will pay you a one time fee of $100. We will reach out to you on the details you supply with your moment of truth submission to request bank account details for payment within 2 weeks of your submission date.

If your moment of truth is selected for Jajoo Warrngara as part of the revenue share model you will receive 50% of revenue based on the number of educators who access your content to share in their classrooms, noting that the other 50% will return to SharingStories to continue supporting their community led projects.

SharingStories will reach out to let you know your moment of truth has been chosen for publication within 2 weeks after your submission. If we don’t contact you, sorry due to the amount of content we’ve received we’ve had to make some very hard decisions about what we have selected.

We will be in touch again if your moment of truth is selected for the development of educational resources and publishing on Jajoo Warrngara so we can arrange an agreement for you to be part of our community revenue share process.

SharingStories may edit your moment of truth to ensure it meets the formating, media quality, data or length requirements for publishing on Blakbox. Don’t worry, we will never edit your moment of truth to the point where its intended message is lost.

We are reaching out to all First Nations peoples to share their moments of truth. Blakbox provides a unique one of kind opportunity to flood the media with stories that demonstrate the strength and resilience of First Nations peoples.
